The Carnivorous Cabinet is an exuberant neo-botanical study of nature at its strangest and most seductive. Pitcher plants, Venus flytraps and other carnivorous botanical forms crowd together in a richly layered cabinet of vivid reds, acid greens, turquoise, gold and deep organic tones.
Inspired by vintage botanical illustration, natural-history collections and scientific botanical studies, the work pushes traditional botany into something more contemporary and surreal. Familiar specimens become almost jewel-like objects—part botanical archive, part imagined ecosystem.
Created for botanical collectors, carnivorous plant lovers, gardeners, natural-history enthusiasts and collectors of unusual contemporary art, the saturated palette also makes this a strong statement piece for mid-century modern, eclectic, Art Nouveau-inspired and organic modern interiors.
